Staellinika Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data, including cookies and personal information, for both visitors to our public pages and registered learners accessing course content. If you have additional questions, please contact us at support@staellinika.com.

1. Public Pages (Anonymous Visitors)

This section applies to all users visiting the public, non-authenticated pages of our site.

Cookies and Technologies We Use

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled. They enable core functionality, such as maintaining your session as you navigate the site.

  • PHPSESSID: Used to track anonymous visits and maintain site functionality during your session. This cookie is set automatically, does not collect personal data, and expires when you close your browser.

Optional Cookies

These cookies require your explicit consent before they are set. You can choose to accept or reject them via the cookie consent popup displayed when you visit our site.

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Cookies: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics, such as page views, clicks, and session duration, to improve our website. GA4 sets the following cookies:
    • _ga: Distinguishes unique users, expires after 2 years.
    • _gid: Distinguishes users for daily reports, expires after 24 hours.
    • _ga_<container-id>: Tracks session state, expires after 2 years.
IP addresses are anonymized by default to protect your privacy. GA4 tracking only occurs if you consent via the cookie popup, and we use Google’s Consent Mode to ensure no data is collected without your permission.
  • YouTube Cookies: When you view embedded YouTube videos, cookies may be set by YouTube to enable video playback and personalization. We use privacy-enhanced modes (e.g., youtube-nocookie.com) to minimize data collection.

Local Storage

We use local storage, a browser technology similar to cookies, to store your consent preferences:

  • cookieConsent: Stores your choices for Google Analytics and YouTube cookies, allowing us to respect your preferences across visits. This does not contain personal data and is stored in your browser.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit our public pages, a popup (toast notification) will appear, allowing you to accept or reject optional cookies for Google Analytics 4 and YouTube. Strictly necessary cookies, like PHPSESSID, are always active to ensure the site works properly. You can save your preferences at any time, and the popup will no longer appear unless you clear your browser’s data. To change your preferences or stop GA4 tracking, clear your browser’s local storage or contact us, and revisit the site to set new choices. You can also opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

2. Registered Learners (Logged-In Users)

This section applies to registered learners who log in to access course content, quizzes, and related features. We process personal data to provide and enhance your learning experience.

Data and Cookies We Collect

User Account Data

To provide access to our courses, we collect and process the following information you provide during registration: First Name, Last Name, Username, Email Address, and Password. This data is used to create and manage your account, authenticate logins, and communicate with you about your courses. Passwords are securely hashed to protect your privacy. During registration, you must check a box confirming you have reviewed this Privacy Policy. This data is retained until you request account deletion via our ticketing system or we remove it upon your request.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for authenticated access to our platform and cannot be disabled.

  • PHPSESSID: Used to maintain your session after login, ensuring secure access to course content and features. This cookie is set automatically, does not collect personal data beyond session management, and expires when you close your browser.

Optional Cookies

These cookies require your explicit consent, managed through the same cookie consent popup as on public pages.

  • YouTube Cookies: Some courses include embedded YouTube videos to enhance learning. These may set cookies for video playback and personalization. We use privacy-enhanced modes (e.g., youtube-nocookie.com) to minimize data collection. Your consent preferences from the public pages apply here.

Learning-Related Data

We collect the following data to deliver and improve our educational services:

  • Progress and Performance: We track your progress and performance in courses and quizzes to display your achievements and suggest personalized next steps in your learning path. This data is linked to your account and accessible only to you and authorized administrators.
  • Last Login: We record the date and time of your last login to monitor account activity and enhance security. This is linked to your account and visible only to you and administrators.
  • Anonymous Path Tracking: We collect anonymized data on the sections you visit within courses to generate statistics for improving course content. This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely for aggregate analysis.
  • Question Answering (Select Courses): For one specific course, we offer a Question Answering feature powered by the MyReader.ai API. Your questions and answers, drawn exclusively from our custom course content, are stored to allow you to revisit them. Only you can view your own questions and answers, though course administrators may access them to monitor quality and potentially improve course content in the future.

Purpose and Legal Basis

We process your account data (First Name, Last Name, Username, Email, Password), progress, login records, and Question Answering data to fulfill our contract with you as a registered learner, providing access to course content and personalized features. Anonymous path tracking and potential use of Question Answering data for course improvement are based on our legitimate interest in enhancing our educational services, ensuring no personal data is used without your consent or a valid legal basis. Google Analytics 4 cookies are processed based on your explicit consent.

Managing Your Data and Preferences

You manage Google Analytics 4 and YouTube cookie preferences via the cookie consent popup, which applies to both public and authenticated pages. To review or update your personal data (e.g., account details, progress, or Question Answering data), access your account settings or contact us. To delete your account and associated data (e.g., account details, progress, Question Answering records), submit a request via our internal ticketing system by contacting us at support@staellinika.com. We will process deletion requests promptly, typically within 30 days, after verifying your identity. You can withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage and revisiting the site to set new choices or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Data Sharing and Security

Your personal data (account details, progress, login, and Question Answering records) is accessible only to you and authorized administrators. The MyReader.ai API processes questions solely using our custom course content, and no external web data is used. Google Analytics 4 data is shared with Google under a Data Processing Agreement, with IP anonymization enabled to protect your privacy. We implement appropriate security measures, including password hashing, to protect your data.

Your Rights

As a registered learner, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests or request data portability. To exercise these rights, including requesting account deletion, contact us at support@staellinika.com to submit a request via our internal ticketing system. We will respond to requests promptly, typically within 30 days, after verifying your identity.
